To setup your capture system you should go through these steps:

1) Connect your video cassette recorder (VCR) to your capture device.
2) Connect capture device to your PC.
3) Select your capture device from the 'Video Device' list.
4) Start playing something in your VCR. If everything is correct, you will see your video in the preview area.
Wait at least 20 seconds for Golden Videos to detect a newly installed device.
5) Select 'Capture Sound' checkbox if you would like to capture sound as well.
6) Connect the audio output of your VCR to the Line-In port of your PC.
7) Make sure you don't have 'Mute preview' selected. Select your Sound Record Device and the Input Channel. If everything is correct, you will hear the sound from your VCR.
8) Adjust the record volume level the way it generally stays in the green field. You can adjust the volume either in 'Windows Record Mixer' or by selecting 'Master Volume' sound input channel and adjusting the volume directly.
